ไม้กลองรุ่น Classic 5A ของ Promark พร้อมพื้นผิว ActiveGrip ซึ่งเป็นสารเคลือบผิวด้วยความร้อนที่ได้รับสิทธิบัตรของ Promark ซึ่งได้รับการออกแบบมาเพื่อให้มีความเหนียวขึ้นเมื่อผู้เล่นเหงื่อออกและอุณหภูมิร่างกายสูงขึ้น ทำโดยการทาบางๆ เหมือนแลคเกอร์แบบดั้งเดิมโดยไม่ต้องเพิ่มเส้นผ่านศูนย์กลางหรือน้ำหนักให้กับแท่งไม้ ซึ่งแตกต่างจากทางเลือกในการยึดเกาะส่วนใหญ่ในตลาด ActiveGrip จะไม่ทำให้เกิดข้อจำกัด ทั้งในช่วงการเคลื่อนไหวหรือการเล่นเทคนิคต่างๆ
