Carmen is an incredible guitarist, whose playing ranges from melodic clean to industrial aggression, but whichever style she plays she brings a musicality and tone to her performance that excites and inspires. She has been playing Blackstar amps since 2016 and we wanted to create an amp for her that is as unique and amazing as she is.
Bones UK's Carmen Vandenberg is famous for her wide-ranging guitar stylings, which run the gamut from pristine, textured melodies to high-octane, industrial-tinged cacophony. Designed in collaboration with Carmen, Blackstar's CV30 contains two versatile channels voiced for sparkling cleans and riff-heavy overdriven tones. And thanks to its custom-designed power section, this 30-watt tube-fueled combo delivers 6L6-style dynamics, along with Class A-style chime and shimmer. The CV30 includes ample tone shaping controls, including Blackstar's patented ISF feature for tailoring your sound, along with an excellent digital reverb, a serial effects loop, and an authentic-sounding line output. Limited to 100 amplifiers available worldwide, the CV30 comes with a certificate hand signed by Carmen.

Along with her Grammy-nominated band Bones UK, Carmen Vandenberg is making a huge impact in the guitar world. Not only did Bones UK support Korn on an arena tour, but they also co-wrote and performed on Jeff Beck's Loud Hailer album. The CV30 reflects Carmen's versatility perfectly — it can deliver crystal-clear cleans, crunchy riffs, and industrial-inflected distortion with equal aplomb. There are plenty of sound shaping features onboard, and the guitarists here at Sweetwater have also found it to be an exemplary pedal platform. A longtime Blackstar devotee, Carmen was involved in all stages of this guitar amplifier's development — and it shows. It's one of the few amplifiers that can effectively tackle Carmen's inimitable blend of riff-heavy rock and industrial-textured blues tones.
Patented Infinite Shape Feature and custom-designed power section
The Blackstar CV30 is packed with a massive variety of tube tone, by virtue of Blackstar's Infinite Shape Feature (ISF). This exclusive feature shifts the EQ curves of the amplifier's Bass, Middle, and Treble controls. When turned fully counterclockwise, you'll lend an American characteristic to your voice with a tight bottom end and aggressive middle. Turned all the way to the right, you'll enjoy more of a British vibe. What's more, this tube combo amplifier's custom-designed power section exhibits the dynamics you'd typically associate with an American 6L6 design, while infusing your playing with British Class A-style chime and shimmer.
Loaded with player-friendly additions
The tone of the CV30 is well worth the price of admission. But Blackstar knows what players want. And they loaded this already great-sounding all-tube combo with enough features to ensure it quickly becomes your go-to gigging and recording amp. The digital reverb offers amazing depth and dimension. Beyond that, the speaker-emulated line output will ensure you become your sound engineer's best friend.
