Amazing Value in a Versatile Studio Mic
Sporting sound and looks reminiscent of sought-after vintage mics, the versatile Avantone BV-12 large-diaphragm tube condenser mic gives you professional results from a wide range of studio sources. The BV-12 has a warm, pleasing sonic character that's ideal for vocals, acoustic guitar, drum overheads, piano, and much more. The mic captures minute detail exceeding well, but its 10dB pad also gives you the versatility to use it on boisterous instruments as well. Use it to record gargantuan toms (just don't let the drummer hit it), a crushing wall of electric guitar, or even bagpipes (they're quite loud, you know). However you use it, you'll be glad you have the Avantone BV-12 in your mic locker.

A few examples of what you can do with this workhorse mic
Two singers, one mic: grab the Avantone BV-12, set it to figure-8, and you're good to go. Record a sax solo overdub with natural "slap": position the BV-12 (again, on figure-8) between the sax player and the control room window; adjust mic position to taste. Ginormous Val Garay-style toms (two racks and a floor): three BV-12s on cardioid, fairly close-in - just don't let the drummer hit the mics! Full symphony orchestra, Bob Fine's Mercury Living Presence technique: Three BV-12s, set to omni, across the proscenium arch; record to three tracks panned left, center, right. Set your levels for peaks, then leave those faders alone and let the conductor balance the orchestra. We could go on, but you can already see how the Avantone BV-12 can be used in any number of ways to produce great-sounding tracks.
